Bishop James & Pastor Joy Marquis

Bishop James W. Marquis is gifted by the Holy Spirit with a unique prophetic anointing to win the lost for Jesus Christ, activate faith in the life of the believer, heal the sick, and bring deliverance to lives that are chained in bondage. Bishop Marquis has served the Lord in the ministry of the gospel for nearly 40 years as a pastor, missionary, and apostle.

Bishop Marquis first began active ministry while enlisted in the United States Navy. During his time in the navy Bishop Marquis pastored a congregation of naval personnel aboard the USS Nassau. It was also during this time he had the opportunity to meet and disciple under Bishop John and Pastor Anne Gimenez at Rock Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

In January 1984 Bishop Marquis married Joy Stiffler of Jackson, Ohio and upon completion of his naval commitment they returned to his hometown of Wellston, Ohio. After moving back Bishop Marquis accepted and saw great success as youth pastor of his home church of Trinity Church of God. During this time Bishop Marquis also ministered throughout the tristate region of Kentucky, Ohio, and West Virginia as an evangelist.

1987 brough many changes as Bishop Marquis took over as pastor of the Waverly Church of God in Waverly, Ohio. Following his pastorate of the Waverly Church of God, Bishop Marquis returned to Wellston in 1990 to found Trinity Church of God. In 2004 the church was renamed New Covenant Worship Center.

In 2008 Bishop Marquis founded New Covenant Global Outreach with the goal of reaching the nations for Jesus Christ. In nearly 40 years Bishop Marquis’ ministry has expanded to touch the world ministering to thousands of souls in the United States, Central America, Europe, and Africa.

Bishop James and Pastor Joy Marquis reside in Jackson, Ohio and are joined in ministry and business by their children Rev. Sam and Rebekah Brady, James and Morgan Marquis, and Rev. Andrew and Tiffany Marquis. When not traveling for the ministry, they enjoy spending time with their children and 10 grandchildren.
